Winter Tango Marathon – Vilnius, Lithuania

On occasion of the World Tango Day we are happy to invite dancers to the Winter Tango Marathon. It is the first real tango marathon where people will dance and stay in one place. We hope it will become a nice tradition.
Tango Winter Marathon organizers focus on the tango feeling that is the most important in tango. Therefore, we offer the best DJ’s, good music, great floor. We guarantee that the marathon will not be interrupted by show programs and performances. We hope that everyone will meet his or her beloved tanguero(-a), will hear his favorite music and will find that wonderful feeling of tango.

New Year‘s Tango in Riga

The year 2012 ends with a long weekend – what can be a better occasion for a nice tango event with many milongas and some encouraging workshops? This year we join our efforts among several Riga Tango schools and event organizers to create a fantastic tango weekend for You, for all of us!
The cooperation partners are Tango Baltica (Heidrun & Reinis), Dancestar (Ginta Krivma), HiCentrs (Dima & Lena), Baltā Pirts (Ieva & Misha), El Naranjerito (Margita & Zigis) and RigaTangoWinterFest (Ginta O. & Jurgen).
We are currently preparing the programme for 5 evening milongas at different locations (hosted by the different organizers), including a New Year’s Party, and we would like to announce that the maestros, whom we love so much for their teaching skills, Ilona & Salvador Rios, will come with their specialty, a set of 9 workshops “Todo Milonga” and dance a midnight show at New Year’s Eve.

Where to dance in Riga before Tango Sun Festival?

For those of you arriving earlier to Riga, here some information where you can dance the days before the event:
on 19 August from 18:00 – 23:30 you can dance at Kanepju Centrs, Skolas iela 15 (milonga hosted by Aigars Stirna, www.tangostudio.lv);
and on 21 August from 21:00 you can dance at El Naranjerito, Bruninieku iela 47 (milonga hosted by Margita Antonova and Zigmunds Abolins, www.tangoargentino.lv).

Tango Sun Festival 2012

We are glad to announce that this year the maestros of the festival will be Eugenia Usandivaras y Leo Calvelli (Argentina), Barbara Wainnright y Mario de Camillis (Argentina) and Ilona y Salvador Rios (Netherlands/Mexico).
Besides traditional tango workshops we offer you additionally to improve your dancing quality with help of Alexander technique workshops held by Margarete Tüshaus (Germany).
Of course, a series of exciting milonga days and nights are waiting for you – with DJ Don Carlos (Argentina), DJ Salvador (Mexico), DJ Evaldas (Lithuania) and more DJs to come.
We will start the festival on 22 August with a milonga in Riga and end on 26 August with the Chill-out milonga in Jurmala.

Tango lessons will be held in Baltā Pirts, Tallinas street 71 on Saturday 2 June 12:30 – 17:30 and Sunday 14:00 – 17:15.
We plan a special lesson for ladies on Satuday 12:30 – 14:00 and 4 lessons of tango, each two on Saturday and Sunday.
This time you can register and come without a partner, the programme will be arranged in a way that single ladies will have on what to work also without a partner or change will be facilitated.
Price: 1 lesson 7 Ls, the package of 4 tango lessons 24 Ls, but you can book the lessons also separately.
Welcome to the workshops, Dima and Sasha have shown in January that they are excellent teachers – yes, we have noticed that this is what they are skilled in – teaching tango! Its worth to join the classes.
You can also take private lessons on 1 and 4 June, by the way.

Lesson 2. Linear and circular motion of the couple (promenada y giro).
